A company with a strong heritage
The history of Heijel Production AB dates back to the 1930s. With its roots in Hillerstorp, Småland, the Heijel family has been involved in the business in various capacities across generations.

The 1930s – The story begins<br> <br> <br>
The history of Heijel Production AB begins, with the Heijel family involved in various roles from the outset.
1937 – HS-fabrikerna is founded
Nils Heijel founds HS-fabrikerna and remains active in the company until his passing in the 1980s.
1930s–1940s – Manual production on a small scale
Production consisted of potato baskets and sheep fencing. Five employees bent and cut the wire by hand.
The 1950s – New products
The product range evolves to include sign stands, wardrobe fittings, boot scrapers and pot trivets.
1960-talet – Fokus mot butiksinredning
The focus shifts more clearly towards retail interiors.
The 1970s – Automation and expansion
The production of wire products becomes increasingly automated. When Nils’ sons take over, the company grows rapidly, the workforce expands to 75 employees and new machinery is introduced – including a mesh welding machine that proves to be revolutionary for the industry.
Early 1990s – Relocation to Hillerstorp
The operations relocate to new premises in Hillerstorp, where the company remains today. Over the years, renovations and expansions have allowed the facilities to grow in line with the business.
2005 – The third generation takes over
Martin Heijel becomes a co-owner and begins leading the company forward.
2005–2025 – Modernization together with Sonny
For nearly two decades, Martin and Sonny Ingebrigtsen jointly drive the company’s development forward and modernize the business.
2025 – New co-owners, continued continuity
Sonny sells his ownership stake and two investors step in. Martin continues as active principal owner, while Sonny remains during a transition period, contributing his experience and expertise.
Today – The tradition continues in Hillerstorp
Then as now, we are based in Hillerstorp, Småland, continuing the family tradition.
